Terma and Boeing strengthen cooperation

Boeing and Terma have a year long history of strong cooperation including electronic components and harnesses for the NATO AWACS [Airborne Warning and Control System] and EWMS (Electronic Warfare Management System) for the P-8A, the U.S. Navy’s newest maritime patrol aircraft. Boeing’s bid for Denmark’s new fighter aircraft is providing new exiting opportunities. In September 2008, Boeing and Terma signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding enhanced cooperation, and in March 2009, Boeing committed 30 percent of the industrial cooperation investment to Terma, if Boeing’s F-18 Super Hornet fighter wins the Danish competition. Importantly, Boeing and Terma also have specific projects in the pipeline, and are working to include the Terma Electronic Warfare Management System (EWMS) suite as the preferred advanced electronic warfare solution for a number of the Boeing-built CH-47F Chinook helicopter. Furthermore, Boeing has shown great interest in Terma’s 3D-Audio Threat Warning/Active Noise Reduction solution. There is a good match between Boeing's variety of aircraft platforms and Terma’s key capabilities. The industrial cooperation is planned to take place within most of Terma’s Business Areas but first and foremost with focus on Airborne Systems and Aerostructures. “Cooperation with a world leading company such as Boeing will have a very positive impact on our business opportunities” says Vice President for Strategic Marketing Mr. Jørn Henrik Levy Rasmussen, and continues: “Again this week Boeing representatives together with Terma focus on potential cooperation on advanced electronics and aerostructures for a number of Boeing’s aircraft”. Boeing and Terma will conduct high-level meetings at the upcoming Paris Air Show later this month.
