12-14 March 2019 at IFEMA, Feria de Madrid, Spain. Meet Terma Radar Systems at the World ATM Congress 2019 operated by CANSO in association with ATCA. Find us at stand no. 1354.
Terma Introduces Enhanced SMR (eSMR)
For the past +20 years, the traditional ground movement radar has been the primary sensor providing surveillance input for Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control Systems (ASMGCS) with reference to e.g. the EUROCAE ED-116.
The flexibility of software-defined radar systems and advances in digital signal processing now allow for processing more information. This improves the situational awareness capability significantly within the same physical envelope.
Unique Capabilities of the eSMR:
High update rate, 1 second as opposed to 5 seconds typically. Approach corridor surveillance Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR) gap filler, providing simultaneous coverage
of movements on the ground and near the aerodrome by adding Doppler processing
Accurate, high precision, approach corridor surveillance allowing positive confirmation of correct runway alignment for inbound traffic.
Improved detection and tracking in high clutter density areas e.g. infield grass areas and along runway edges.
Possible detection and classification of various moving targets, including birds, within and above the aerodrome maneuvering area.
Embedded Plot extraction- and tracking fully independent of the A-SMGCS backend system with radar video in standard ASTERIX format.
Terma will also present the SCANTER 4002/5502 Wind Farm Tolerant ATC Radar. The SCANTER 4002/5502 Radar systems represent state-of-the-art technology in the market.
The flexibility in frequency planning and adjustment of transmitted power means low susceptibility to interference and a swift integration into ATM systems and A-SMGCS systems due to open architecture and processed radar video output.
We look forward to meeting you at this great event! World ATM Congress 2018
SCANTER 5000 solid-state Radar
The SCANTER 5000 series has been in the market since 2010. It is Solid State and is fully coherent with soft-ware-defined functionality.
The SCANTER 5502 and 5602 Surface Movement Radar (SMR) is designed to perform airport surveillance integrated as the primary sensor in an airport Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS).
Small-target detection in rough weather conditions
Terma’s product portfolio for radar-based surveillance solutions is named SCANTER. The SCANTER transceiver product range comprises the solid-state radars, SCANTER 6000 for Naval Surveillance and SCANTER 5000 for VTS, CS and SMR, the new SCANTER 2000 nd 1002 series, the combined sea and air surveillance radar, the SCANTER 4000, and the SCANTER 4100 naval 2D surface and air surveillance radar.
