3D-Audio Systems Engineer

Location: Warner Robins, GA

The Challenge:

The Systems Engineer will be the lead SE in relation to Terma Audio Systems. The Systems Engineer will support the planning and direction of System Engineering tasks. The Systems Engineer will participate in all required activities to include interfacing with stakeholders and in development of Systems Engineering plans and processes. Provide technical leadership support in formulating requirements, and in identifying critical requirements. The Systems Engineer will participate in:

  • Architecture and requirements development and reviews
  • Peer reviews of work products derived from requirements specifications
  • Deriving system requirements from customer
  • Enter and manipulate requirements stored in the DOORS requirements Management tool

Job Duties and Tasks:

  • Lead SE for Terma NA audio systems tasks
  • Generate and present briefing packages at formal customer events
  • Manage requirements traceability information and track requirements status
  • Perform system integration, verification and validation
  • Evaluates alternatives including cost and risk
  • Develop documentation including test plans and procedures
  • Support proposal responses with task estimations and architecture descriptions
  • Support development of performance specifications by managing requirements in BM Rational DOORS database tool
  • Create requirements traceability in DOORS database
  • Work with Integrated Product Teams, customers and end users to understand and document requirements compliance
  • Define interfaces between assigned system and sub-system components
  • Support development of trade studies to drive design decisions and document trade study results
  • Support documenting concept design decisions and support generating system design concept descriptions and capability assessments
  • Report metrics used to support systems engineering efforts
  • Report status to management
  • Evaluate test requirements for design verification and support the build and purchase of test station components

Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years Engineering work experience OR equivalent experience

Required Skills and Experience:

  • US Citizenship with an active security clearance
  • Knowledge of aircraft radios and intercom systems
  • Knowledge of aircraft group A wiring, group B installation and analog and digital audio systems
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers as well as with team members in remote locations
  • Demonstrated experience in support of Systems Engineering efforts is required.
  • Five to ten years’ experience as a Systems Engineer knowledgeable of integration of software, electrical and mechanical systems. Familiarity with aircraft related Mil-Std’s
  • Familiarity with: MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of IBM Rational-DOORS

Preferred Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Knowledge of EW Self-Protection Systems (e.g. RWR. LWS, MWS) and performance
  • Knowledge of pilot helmet/headset equipment
  • Ability to communicate in small working groups or program teams
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ability to work with international team members
  • Systems thinking skills (i.e., ability to work at detailed level but understand system level implications)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge necessary to write requirements specifications
  • Experience with development and execution of verification and validation procedures
  • Basic understanding of Software Security
  • Willingness to travel: 20-25% CONUS and OCONUS
