Systems Engineer

Location: Warner Robins, GA

The Challenge:
The Systems Engineer will support the planning, management and direction of system engineering tasks. The Systems Engineer will participate in all required activities to include interfacing with stakeholders and in development of systems engineering plans and processes. Provide technical leadership in formulating requirements, and in identifying critical engineering requirements.

The Systems Engineer will participate in:

  • Architecture and requirements reviews
  • Peer reviews of work products derived from requirements specifications
  • Ensuring that the requirements are interpreted correctly

Job Requirements:

  • Manage system integration, verification and validation tasking
  • Work with Integrated Product Teams, customers and end users to understand and document requirements compliance
  • Perform system integration, verification and validation
  • Define interfaces between assigned system and sub-system components
  • Evaluate test requirements for design verification and support the build and purchase of test station components
  • Document concept design decisions and support generating system design concept descriptions and capability assessments
  • Develop trade studies to drive design decisions and document trade study results
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to generate and present briefing packages at formal customer events
  • Be prime point of contact for interfacing with customer to discuss/resolve technical issues and provide status
  • Evaluates alternatives including cost and risk
  • Support development of performance specifications by managing requirements in IBM Rational DOORS database tool
  • Develop metrics to support Systems Engineering efforts
  • Interface with Management to report status
  • Evaluate current procedures and practices to develop and implement improved procedures and practices

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years Engineering work experience OR equivalent experience

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Five years’ experience as an EW Systems Engineer, knowledgeable of integration of software, hardware, electrical and mechanical systems
  • US Citizenship with an active security clearance
  • Knowledge of EW Self-Protection Systems (e.g. RWR, LWS, MWS) and performance
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications to include MS Project
  • Knowledge of IBM Rational-DOORS

Preferred Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited College or University
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers as well as with team members in remote locations
  • Systems thinking skills (i.e. ability to work at a detailed level, but understand system level implications)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge necessary to write requirement specifications
  • Experience with development and execution of verification and validation procedures
  • Basic understanding of Software Security
  • Willingness to travel 10% CONUS and OCUNUS
