C-Raid - Command & Control for RHIBS and Interceptors

C-Raid is a tactical, situational awareness, and command and control system designed for RHIBs and Interceptors used in mission scenarios from Search and Rescue (SAR) over police patrolling to special operations and special reconnaissance.

C-RAID, Enhanced mission effectiveness

Utilizing more than 25 years of command and control experience, Terma has developed C-Raid, a tactical, situational awareness and command and control system.

Today’s conflicts and asymmetric threats put great stress on communication and decision-making. Present solutions rely on slow and error prone voice communication, and lack the situational awareness and Blue Force Tracking required to track and manage small assets – resulting in a scattered overview and reduced mission effectiveness.

C-Raid was developed in partnership with Special Operation Forces to overcome these problems by using a radio-based self-healing shared data link between C-Raid assets and fusing individual platforms into a single common real-time tactical overview – greatly expanding both operational potential and mission control including improved decision-making – and enabling multiple platforms to mobilize as one highly efficient and connected team. C-Raid has been designed to support the military, coast guard, maritime police, and border control forces in daily operations.

C-Raid provides a Common Operational Picture (COP) and enhanced mission effectiveness for all decision makers.

Enabling multiple platforms to mobilize as one highly efficient and connected team.

  • Shared real-time situational awareness
  • Reduced load on crew during operation and intuitive user interface
  • Low training overhead
  • Increased crew survivability – own/friendly force tracking, man-overboard, and search-and-rescue (SAR) patterns
  • Small rugged versatile platform providing full mission cycle support
  • Ability to share information with own and coalition forces
  • Cost efficient system with high capability and flexibility.

C-RAID, Enhanced mission effectiveness

C-Raid can be used as a stand-alone system or on a range of different platforms including RHIB, small vessels, Interceptors, Landing Craft, and Amphibious Vessels providing a full tactical overview for situational awareness (SA). C-Raid can run on any standard based computer and on a rugged computer with a large daylight readable touch screen specially designed for use at sea and in harsh environments.

Special Operating Forces in action

C-Raid provides a Common Operational Picture (COP) to all managing assets – allowing for real-time information exchange for improved decision-making and unparalleled mission effectiveness.

C-Raid includes data link to provide an interface to air, land, and naval systems to boost mission effectiveness – increasing surveillance capabilities over the horizon.

C-Raid increases crew survivability by providing own/friendly force tracking, man-overboard, and last known position for precise search-and-rescue (SAR) operations.

C-RAID, Enhanced mission effectiveness

C-Raid’s user-friendly interface is based on Terma’s deep understanding of the Human Factor and made available on a night goggle compatible touch screen built for hostile and light intensive environments – reducing the load on the crew and minimizing the likelihood of mistakes.

Integrated search support tools for operator to conduct efficient search-and-rescue (SAR) operations

C-Raid supports UHF, VHF, and HF tactical radios, Satcom and Wi-Fi. C-Raid allows multiple networks using different protocols to communicate with each other – greatly expanding operational potential.

C-Raid’s tactical overview is composed of a variety of onboard systems such as navigation and position tracking sensors, Automatic Identification System (AIS), Automatic Radar Plotting Aids
(ARPA), and full motion Electro-Optic (EO)/Infrared (IR) Video.

  • Short delivery lead time (typically less than 3 months for standard systems)
  • Rapid out-of-the-box installation with standard test and commissioning (typically 2 to 3 weeks for standard systems)
  • Less than 1 week of training for crew
  • No ITAR items
