The U.S. Ambassador experienced 3D-Audio,

During his visit to Terma, the U.S. ambassador was given the opportunity to hear the noise level as experienced in an F-16 cockpit – both with and without the technology that effectively reduces noise.

Wednesday, 9 April, Terma and CEO Jens Maaløe hosted the visit by U.S. Ambassador Rufus Gifford, who was introduced to Terma’s defense and space technologies and to Terma’s activities, with a focus on the U.S. market. This market constitutes approx. 40% of the company's total revenue.

During the guided tour of the company, the Ambassador was presented with the advanced manufacturing technologies used by the company. He was also given a detailed briefing about Terma’s radar systems, their application, what a state-of -the-art radar can "see".

Terma uses three-dimensional sound in their self- protection systems for combat aircraft, military helicopters, and transport aircraft. The sound technology is used both to warn pilots about missile threats and to limit the noise level in the cockpit. In Terma’s development laboratory, Rufus Gifford heard both directional sound as well as active noise reduction.
