Terma and Boeing have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at exploring cooperation on Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) support for the P-8 maritime patrol aircraft in Denmark. The announcement was made during a signing ceremony at this year’s DALO Industry Days, underscoring the importance of industrial collaboration in enhancing national defense readiness.

Support for Danish defense objectives

By joining forces, Terma and Boeing are not only addressing immediate operational needs, but also laying the groundwork for a more resilient and self-sufficient defense support structure in Denmark - one that enhances national security while fostering long-term industrial growth.

“This agreement marks an important step in our ambition to strengthen Denmark’s position in critical sustainment capabilities. We believe that robust MRO infrastructure is essential to ensuring operational availability of key assets such as the P-8. If the Danish Defense decides on acquiring the P-8 as a new military platform, we – as the industry, stand ready to support By formalizing our intent to collaborate with Boeing, we are not only deepening an already strong relationship - we are also aligning our industrial capabilities to strengthen national resilience,” states Thomas Flarup, Chief Commercial Officer at Terma

Strengthening a proven partnership

As industry leaders, Terma and Boeing share a vision to support allies through innovation, local expertise, and robust sustainment services. By exploring options for a dedicated P-8 MRO capability in Denmark, the two companies aim to contribute meaningfully to Denmark’s operational resilience.

“Terma is an enduring supplier to Boeing’s P-8 program and we have collaborated together for over a decade to advance Denmark’s aerospace ecosystem on projects such as the Harpoon Missile Simulator, a realistic training environment for the operation of advanced missile systems,” said Maria Laine, president of Boeing United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Nordics.

“In the face of global challenges, this MoU fortifies our shared vision for a stronger, more capable defense industrial base, and we are proud to stand beside Denmark’s largest defense company to deliver enhanced sovereign fleet support if Denmark selects the P-8 for its maritime patrol aircraft requirement.”

Terma has been a long-standing supplier to Boeing’s P-8 program. This MoU builds on that foundation, reflecting both companies' commitment to deepen cooperation and deliver added value to customers.
