Danish Minister Visits Terma Aerostructures, Underscores Denmark’s Strategic Role in F-35 Program

Denmark’s Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, Morten Bødskov, visited Terma Aerostructures in Grenaa on Friday 3 October to gain a first-hand view of how the facility is strengthening Denmark’s defense industrial base and supporting global aerospace supply chains. Hosted by Søren Rose-Hansen, Vice President of Terma Aerostructures, the visit spotlighted the factory’s growing role in delivering precision components for the F-35 Lightning II fighter and other strategic programs.

“Our operations in Grenaa set the standard for excellence,” said Søren Rose-Hansen. “We’re proud to be delivering world-class manufacturing that strengthens Denmark’s defense partnerships, supports our allies, and creates hundreds of skilled jobs across the country.”

The Grenaa facility plays a central role in Denmark’s industrial participation in the F-35 program - a decision made by the Danish government as part of its 2016 fighter acquisition strategy. Denmark’s contribution to the multinational program goes beyond aircraft; it includes long-term commitments to allied cooperation and defense-industrial collaboration.

Terma’s work in Grenaa reflects that mandate. The facility manufactures key composite and metal components used across the global F-35 fleet, making it a critical node in allied supply chains and a pillar of Denmark’s sovereign manufacturing capabilities.

During the visit, the Minister also met with employees and apprentices, emphasizing the importance of regional job creation, skilled labor, and green innovation in securing Denmark’s future competitiveness.

With more than 475 employees and ongoing investments in automation and digitalization, Terma Aerostructures continues to position Denmark as a trusted, high-tech partner in the global defense and aerospace industry.
