Terma, in partnership with the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), has completed the U.S. Air Force Modular Software program’s Critical Design Review (CDR), clearing a pivotal hurdle toward delivering adaptable, mission-ready Electronic Warfare capabilities.

This milestone confirms the software’s design is robust and ready to advance into system integration. The innovative modular architecture empowers the Air Force to add new applications swiftly—without costly rewrites - transforming how mission systems evolve in the field.

“Our modular software gives the U.S. Air Force true plug-and-play control over its Electronic Warfare Suite,” said Mike Schiavone, Terma Inc. VP & General Manager. “Operators will add advanced jamming and other new capabilities as easily as downloading an app—without disrupting ongoing missions.”

By replacing tightly coupled legacy code with a flexible, open architecture, Terma enables faster deployment of new features and reduces risk during integration. The next phase involves incremental software releases to validate components and prepare for flight testing on F-16 and A-10 platforms.

Once deployed, this modular design will let warfighters tailor Electronic Warfare applications across multiple aircraft, enhancing survivability and mission effectiveness in dynamic operational environments.
