Terma and Safion Partner to Advance Mission-Critical Battery Diagnostics
Terma has announced a strategic partnership with Safion, a pioneering German company specializing in high-performance battery diagnostics and analytics. This collaboration merges Terma’s expertise in space heritage and spacecraft power testing with Safion’s advanced battery testing solutions, marking a significant step toward the development and deployment of cutting-edge battery systems for demanding applications in marine and aerospace.
We’re thrilled to announce a partnership between Terma and Safion aimed at advancing high-end battery development and manufacturing. This collaboration merges Terma’s heritage in spacecraft power systems testing with Safion’s advanced cell-level diagnostics, aiming to set a new standard for battery testing in demanding and high-risk applications such as marine vessels, defense platforms, and aerospace systems.
Safion’s technology allows users to measure and track battery health in real time. When added to Terma Battery Cell Tester, this helps reduce risk and extend service life, especially in systems that face harsh conditions or must operate without interruption.
“The collaboration with Terma is a step towards bringing Safion closer to working with marine and aerospace technology, and we are excited for the prospects and opportunities this partnership will bring,” says Alexander Gitis, CEO Safion.
Safion’s technology allows users to track battery health metrics in real time with high precision. When integrated into Terma’s Battery Cell Tester platform, the combined system enables:
- Early detection of degradation
- Faster qualification of new chemistries
- Improved system-level safety and uptime
“This partnership is the first step towards the foundation for the next generation of resilient energy storage systems in air and water,” says Günther Lackner, Senior Vice President at Terma.
The partnership will initially focus on qualification and lifecycle testing of batteries used in aerospace and marine sectors, with expansion potential into other high-reliability markets.
