Raytheon finalizes mission systems deal with Terma
The Boeing Hornet Industry Team member Raytheon has signed its largest deal to date with a Danish supplier.

Copenhagen, Denmark – Boeing Hornet Industry Team member and major global defense and aerospace company Raytheon has signed its largest deal to date with a Danish supplier, finalizing a 100 million DKK mission systems deal with Terma.
“Raytheon recognizes and deeply values the expertise, innovation, and consistent quality that characterize the Danish aerospace and defense industry,” said Rick Yuse, president of Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems business. “This agreement with Terma is the latest example of our commitment to partnering with Danish companies, and we will continue to seek new opportunities to further integrate Danish industry into our global supply chain.”
With a decision in Denmark’s New Fighter Program expected this spring, the Boeing-led Hornet Industry Team continues to deliver on its commitment to bring real jobs and sustainable growth to Danish industry for the long term.
“As Denmark’s largest defense company, Terma is looking forward to a decision in the New Fighter Program,” said Jens Maaløe, Terma President and Chief Executive Officer. “Each of the program’s three competitors – Boeing, Eurofighter and Lockheed Martin – bring highly capable, modern aircraft to the table, and they each offer Danish industry, including Terma, compelling opportunities for partnership over the long term. Regardless of who emerges victorious in the New Fighter Program, I know the program will drive growth and job creation in Denmark’s defense and aerospace industry.”
While Raytheon and Terma are not releasing further specifics on the mission systems work package at the request of the customer, the deal provides the latest example of how Denmark’s New Fighter Program is opening global markets to the country’s defense and aerospace companies.
In addition to the contract award by Raytheon, Boeing soon will use Terma’s 3D-Audio/Active Noise Reduction technologies in the AH-64 Apache simulator. This technology can reduce pilot fatigue and hearing loss, while improving speech intelligibility and increasing survivability. Inclusion of the 3D Audio in the simulator will evaluate the effectiveness of the system in a realistic environment and will allow for customers to make configuration decisions – laying the groundwork for incorporation into the aircraft.
